Gartner predicts generative artificial intelligence, or GenAI, “can help create a more diverse workforce inclusive of those in a wide range of age groups, from different educational and ethnic backgrounds, and who are neurodivergent. By 2027, 25% of Fortune 500 companies will actively recruit neurodiverse talent to improve business performance.”
While some of us have already embraced AI, this technology is still very new or even unheard of to many – but it will quickly become more and more of the norm where artificial intelligence and human collaboration converge.
Here are just a few ways AI is already being used:
- Health diagnostics
- Sales and lead scoring
- Robotics such as in fast food and brick laying
- Self-driving transportation
- Personalized shopping experiences
- Marketing content and images
- Personal assistants, chat bots and more.
We are entering an amazing age where there will be a symbiotic relationship between humans and intelligent systems. Fostering a culture of belonging becomes critical as organizations navigate this digital landscape, ensuring that employees feel valued, empowered, and integral to the company’s success. We are one with our laptops and desktops. How did we ever live without them? Before long it will be “How did I ever live without AI”?
Going forward it will be important to celebrate the diversity of skills, experiences, and perspectives that both humans and artificial intelligence bring to the table. Doing so will require acknowledging the strengths of each team member, whether human or machine, and fostering a collaborative environment where innovation flourishes. Businesses that successfully blend human and AI capabilities will create a workplace where employees understand that their unique contributions still matter.
Essential to this effort is establishing clear communication, providing transparent decision-making, and offering continuous learning opportunities. By providing avenues for employees to up-skill and adapt, you will empower your workforce to thrive in a GenAI environment. Leaders will also need to play a crucial role in setting the tone for inclusivity and belonging, championing a culture that values diversity.
This year, you will continue to hear a lot about AI from us, as well as from many other resources. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about how AI will potentially be affecting your business.
